It is ranger powered and I am not sure of the numbers. As far as I know it was RAF, but in North Africa. I am not even sure if it actually flew, as it is rumoursed that some of those intended for North Africa were not even uncrated. After the war some 50 of these aircraft became the basis for the establishment of a company called Comair which currently operates British Airways under licence on the South African domestic routes.

On our plane, there was a US Army s/n stamped into the thick metal tube on the passenger side at the bottom of the door. Look for the tube that goes down on an angle from the rear door post toward the floor. The s/n was on the tube where it is exposed when you open the door.

It would be wise to inspect the stampings on the steel member in your project under magnification or by the dye method for hairline cracks. Hopefully, no cracks are present.
