'I wonder how much it weighs in running trim..ie all accessories. My book
says18lbs for the starter, 16 for generator, the metal prop is about 75 lbs,
the exhaust perhaps 15? So maybe we're up to 464 lbs with a few small
things missing. The Gesoco page shows the M14D as 473 dry but with
accessories..no exhaust or prop. If you added a wood prop at 25 lbs and
allow 15 for the exhaust, we'd have 513 lbs. Not bad for a claimed 220 hp
and dirt cheap to exchange instead of overhaul. TBO is sometimes claimed
to be 1,250. This is a new engine.
