Tony,     That is a little farther than I was hoping for but I will see what I can arrange.   What I am hoping to see is how well I fit in the cabin.  If I am going to be in a slower airplane I want to be comfortable and I am a little bit cramped in my Stinson.  So if the F24 cabin is a little bit taller, that might make all the difference and tip me into looking for a Fairchild.

I’m in Minneapolis with a Warner F24W41-A. Is that close enough? What about the 24 do you want to see?

Is there anyone with a Fairchild 24 in the Great Lakes area that would let me see their airplane?

'Kosola (sp?) had the STC.  They were sold to another fabricator whose name I can’t recall right now (but it will come to me, and I’ll send it to you).  I contacted the purchasing company and learned that there is no index to the Kosola drawings - they were all filed by date.  So somebody has to go through them and find the mount drawings; they were not willing to do it themselves, but they didn’t invite me to do it, either.
As far as I can tell, the options are to pursue a one time STC or to get the purchaser to give one of us access to the old Kosola drawings.

'Thanks Eric!  Serv-aero is who made most mounts but they are not supporting that STC any longer. I was able to borrow a mount from Don Sanders in mustang Ok.  I have the jig built but am lacking in enthusiasm so before I started I thought I would put the word out and possibly find one laying around after all there were 18 mounts made ( needle in a hay stack sort of thing) I was able to obtain all the STC paperwork and drawings for another flying 24 so shouldn't be much of a problem getting a field approval.Don has 2 F24's both have serv-aero mounts both cowled and mounted different. One is mostly Waco upf-7 so I am also looking for UPF-7 dishpan and exaust. I have a new bump cowl. Mine is a 1937
