'Be sure the locking bolt is removed from the big nut on front of crankshaft.
Insert rod through the big holes in nut and loosen.. Snap ring looks to be
in place that will pull the prop forward as nut is removed. When nut runs
out of threads on crankshaft, you should be able to remove nut and taper
halves then slide prop off shaft.

'John,
Thanks for the reply. We have removed the bolt, but the big nut is not budging. We used a steel rod, and it bent!
I assume we are going counterclockwise while facing the engine?
Thanks

'Yep, counterclockwise facing the engine, it is a standard right hand thread. Get the largest diameter steel rod that will fit into the nut holes, which I can't remember off the top of my head, probably 7/8" ? Smaller rods will bend if a 20-spline nut has been gorilla'ed on.
I use a ladder with a foam pad to brace the propeller with as much contact area as possible on the leading edge so as to apply maximum leverage.

'Ditto the large rod. Then get about a 5 foot pipe that you can slide over
the rod so you can really hang and bounce on it. Might even bend the pipe
during removal.
