Cherry Rivets on T.E. of elevator on PT.

Post by Michael Kelly »

'I have a rudder that has all cherry rivets instead of the bucked rivets. It's the only one I've seen that way but it is

factory and not a repair. I suspect that this was a Fleet built rudder since the lighting holes in the ribs have a raised flange around them instead of the typical chamfered edge that I see on all the other parts I have.

'Mike / Jerry,
That's a good idea. What type of rivet in particular? It needs to be 3/32" dia. with a grip of .050". Most of the Cherry rivets I've seen don't go smaller than 1/8". Can you recommend something?
Thanks,

'I'd have to agree with the pull type rivet. As delicate an area you are
working with it just be a lot simpler..
