I am using REM-40-E plugs in Ranger Engines. Many years ago, I found a shorter length plug that was the same heat range to go behind the carburetor.. I have forgotten the part number
Does anyone know the part number ..

I use the BG4B2s Spark Plug for that position. It does have a smaller ignition leed fitting and is shorter than the REM40E plug. Fresno Airparts has them.

'The REM37BY is 3/8" shorter than the 40E and fits nicely behind the Ranger carb. It has exposed electrodes.

I have never had much trouble with a REM-40-E behind the carburator, although I had heard many people complain about them. I had ALWAYS used Champion plugs. One day I switched brands and found that the plugs were of a different shape, and with the newer plug, I could not get a grip with a wrench.
Before you give up on a REM-40-E, be sure that you at least TRY a Champion plug.
Works for me.
