'I finally got mine on a set of scales, actual empty weight was 1643, with a CG of 19.1" aft of datum.

Full fuel weight was 2054 Lbs.. doesn't leave much to work with at 2400lbs gross.

'Tom,

My 1939 24-K weighs 1756 empty and I think my max gross is 2560. It is the short-nosed Ranger. Since I only have 40 gal capacity, I have a good useful load. Although it will lift a lot more than the paperwork would suggest, I always try to make sure I make a really smooth landings when near gross. I would be happy to give up some of that passenger capacity for an extra twenty gallons of fuel.
