I will be glad to send you some pictures. I don't have a
didgital camera though so I need your mailing address. If you could send
some photos of your UC61 I would appreciate it also.

Brad,
The spars and tip bows were ok so I didn't replace them but I did
make new ribs and leading edges. I have checked the wing tanks for fit and
they line up very nicely. I think the reason some tanks end up too high is
probably using too thick felt where the tanks rest on top of the ribs. I had
planned on puting an original interior in mine but John Berendt called and
has a turquois interior that he wasn't going to use and is sending it to me.
I think if I paint the outside turquois & white it should look very
nice. Thanks for the information about the rib stitching-& good luck covering
the wings.

'Buell: Bill has the same contact information for Rigidized that I have
and he's right about the dead soft spec. I got to learn that little
lesson the expensive way. Good luck with your project.

By the way, I now own a spare UC-61 rudder that needs the tube that
goes around the top curve replaced due to corrosion. Anyone want to
buy it or (better) got anything to trade for it? It will be next week
before I get the rudder home and get a decent picture of it.

Best Wishes,
Brad Donner'

Re: Rudder pedel covering

'Bill, I used your bottom panel for a pattern and tried forming one.
I had it shaped and the outside edges bent around. Where I got into a
problem was making the step-down at the bottom and when I doubled it over it
cracked. I think the aluminum I have is to hard and doesn't want to bend. If
you could make one that would be great-I will send you the bottom panel if
you really don't mind making one.I also cut out a rudder panel cover from
the material you sent- sure is nice stuff to work with-Thanks again,
Buell

'Buell: Send the bottom panel back to me and I will form a new one. I've had best luck using 6061-0 aluminum for this type of forming. I have more of the diamond pattern material if you need more. Bill Spriggs

Bill, I used your bottom panel for a pattern and tried forming one.
I had it shaped and the outside edges bent around. Where I got into a
problem was making the step-down at the bottom and when I doubled it over it
cracked. I think the aluminum I have is to hard and doesn't want to bend. If
you could make one that would be great-I will send you the bottom panel if
you really don't mind making one.I also cut out a rudder panel cover from
the material you sent- sure is nice stuff to work with-Thanks again,
Buell
