Re: Ignition Harness
'Hey guys: Would be interested in hearing were anyone has been acquiring, or
what they have been using, for replacement mag to plug ignition leads... or
complete harnesses.... for Rangers? May end up ordering from J&C but understand
he is currently waiting as long as two months for his next shipment of shielded
wire. Sure hate the thought of maybe being down that long and missing out on
half the summer. Won't let that happen but just thought I'd ask the group.
Thanks in advance for any info you may have to offer.

Re: Ignition Harness
'Steve,
We have a lot of Ranger experience (50+ engines) and
can help you out on an ignition harness. Call my dad,
Joe Denest at 610-399-7028. If you need a harness,
you'll get it a lot faster than J&C.

Re: Ignition Harness
'I'll defer to the experts about the harness but I want to relate my
experience with the metal shielded harness that's on my Ranger. The
ferrules apparently were not properly swaged onto the shielding and some
were loose. This caused no end to radio noise. I spend weeks tracking down
one loose ferrule only to discover that yet another was loose. If I had it
to do again I'd probably go with the shielded leads that someone like Savage
Magneto makes for the Ranger. They have internal shielding (I guess). FWIW

'Thank you, too, Mike in Oregon, for the input. The entire issue started precisely with our chasing radio noise. Everything except the harness has been ruled out. And we seem to have found the bad lead. Thanks.
