Re: 12V regulator recommendations

Post by dcasali »

'thanks.... I'm going to have to get out to the hanger and take a look. I
don't think I've ever seen more than 15 amps out of the generator, but
that could be a function of the wrong regulator. I'll post again when I
have more info.

'Thanks Tom.

I am going to mail you the failed retainer; it's almost certainly a
"hard" one. I have a parts engine that I will examine next time I can
get to it (it's locked in my mechanic's parts room 70 miles from here)
and see if it is an "E" series. Hopefully it can provide a sample
"soft" retainer to work from.

Does anyone else have a known good retainer? You may find a logbook
entry around 1936 if they were installed....

Melvyn, what's your engine number?

'I spoke with Harmon Dickerson this morning. He tells me that Warner 165
exhaust valve retainers fit on a Warner 145, and that he has WWII stock
on hand. I've ordered seven.

Jamie -- Harmon's email address is incorrectly listed as
HDAircraft@cf.com in the Parts and Services document: it is actually
HDAircraft@cs.com.
