Fuel dip sticks

Post by Fairchild_Driver »

Hi folks,

Has anyone experience in using dipsticks to measure the fuel in the tanks?

Or does anyone knows the measurements of the tanks ( 60 gal version Fairchild)

Thanks,

Bart

A straight up and down dip stick on the 30 gallon tanks won't give you much of a range. I think it only covers the top 10-15 gallons. There's a design for a curved dip stick on the club DVD that has worked well for me. I made the calibration marks myself, but the general format seems to work well.

You have to contact Jamie to order the DVD and send the money to the Fairchild Club.

Thanks to the creator of the curved fuel dip gauge. A co-worker saw the PDF file I copied from the Club DVD and told me he could print out to correct scale with a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) program, since the ruler was embedded.
I have traced onto aluminum and cut out. When I empty a tank, I will go to the gas pumps and fill 5 gallons at a time and mark up my gauge.
Thanks !!!
