warner pistons

Post by paul pinato »

'Hi

I am doing a top overhaul on my warner 165.
Lifting the #7 cylinder I found the piston to be
cracked.

The crack goes from the bottom skirt-through the
lower oil ring grove and up halfway to the third
piston ring.

The crack is located in the middle between the
piston pin holes.

Is there somebody that have seen this before.

As it is piston #7 I can not blame a hydraulic
lock.

I am also looking for 3/8 cylinder hold down studs
and it´s nuts. The crankcase has the 5/16 studs
but all my cylinders have 3/8 holes.

' #ygrps-yiv-443450548 P {margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;} Hello Paul,
I am sorry to hear about your broken piston.  I have no reports of a similar problem.
I have the 3/8 cylinder holddown studs in stock, and I may have the associated nuts.  (They are in short supply).  I will check inventory.  When you determine ALL the parts that you need, fill out a Part request form from the website and email it to me.
Thanks for the email, and I am sorry to hear of your problems.  Please let me know if you find anything else unusual with the engine.
Kindest regards,
John Duncan

'Having only briefly scanned your email, I did not see that John Duncan had already replied. He is also a very good and reputable source for Warner parts.  I have done business with him as well.It was an oversight on my part to not have mentioned him.
