Re: Message from Mark Denest Ranger concerns

'Many of you here know of myself and my dad Joe. Some of you may remember his car accident almost two years ago when he made a left turn into oncoming traffic. He was no wearing a seatbelt and was really beat up. At this time he was showing signs of dementia, ie. anger, mood swings, short term memory, confusion. The month and a half recovery went fine, so since he got home from that he wanted to keep himself busy. He kept himself busy by building up a couple rangers.
So here is where my concern sets in, at the time he was assembling these engines we noticed things like loose piston pin plugs, possibly a few mismatched connecting rods/caps. I have concerns on the connecting rod bolts (service bulletin calling out the Rockwell test and torque value/stretch). Also that there was hardly any assembly oil used throughout. His attention to detail has diminished tremendously do to being 92 years old now. He is at the point now where he does not realize he should not have been building engines at that time. Since the accident we have tried to get the right combination of medications to slow the dementia and as of late things have been ok but he has slowed vastly slowed down. Lately he has called a few people in the roster list to try to sell one of the engines. Please do not consider a purchase of this engine. This is especially difficult for me to post this to this forum but I have to protect you and me and my dad. I would also prefer that this post be kept to the confines of this forum. If he were to find out that I am doing this there would be an apocalypse coming my way. If anyone would like more information please email at mdaero1@comcast.net

My wife also has dementia and I am acutely aware of the cruelty and agony that is predominant with THIS ILLNESS, not only for the affected person, but most assuredly, those family members who are close.
If my wife who is 78, lives to be 93 like your dad, my life will be immersed in this same agony for years to come.
