How do I replace the little rubber sections that appear to go from the tanks to metal tubing that ultimately goes to the fuel valves and then the gascolator. These little rubber coupling sections can be seen from the access holes under the wing and near the wing root, but access seems poor, and I wonder if I'm seeing them all. From the manuals, it seems like there should be two lines -- two pick-up points from each tank -- going to the fuel valves for the corresponding sides. Can these be replaced without removing tanks or covering, or ??? What's the best procedure? Also, what's the best or proper hose material to use. While we're at it, what material are people using for the line going from the gascolator to the carb. My 24 is a 1940 with 30 gallon tanks, and I suppose it is the same as a '46. I'm looking at the manual for the '46. Thanks.'

Re: F24 Fuel Lines
'I can't vouch for how it was done originally. The enclosed photo is basically how it was when I took it apart many years ago. I saved the parts that I took off.At the two outlets of each tank, I had coarse screens in the tank with a female output. Then that adapted to a flare fitting. You can see the new line that I fabricated laying on top of the rear spar. The out put of that mated to a 90 deg. bend. There was approximately 4" of rubber hose connecting each of the tank output lines to the 90's, and another 4" piece of hose that connected the 90 to the line that went forward, then down forward of the door post then mated to the fuel cut off. The tube ends are beaded. Make sure that there are not any sharp ends on the ends of the tubing.Bob775-482-9243
