'Pete, I just sent an email to Tusker Metals, in Temecula, CA. I've
worked with them before, and they are pretty responsive and don't
gouge. If I can get a 2 x 2 piece, maybe we can split it?
Their number is 951-506-0927. I'd call but I don';t have a phone.

' Hi Andrew,
I also got a response from a local guy who found some on eBay - a 48 x 48 piece for $50. The place is in Mooresville, NC, and shipping works out to $105 to me via UPS ground. A 24x24 piece would obviously be a lot less in shipping.
Let me know what you come up with from Tusker Metals and we can go the best way. Where are you located? I'm near Indianapolis, IN. I won't be around the rest of the day but will get back with you tomorrow.

Thanks for your response.

'The price is right but the shipping - wow!
I'm just south of ABQ; oddly enough, my wife's from New Castle, and
had this happened a couple of weeks ago her Dad could have driven the
sheet out!
I'll let you know what happens re Tusker.
Question, would the guy with the 48 x 48 sheet be willing to just run
a sabre saw through it, make two 24 x 48? Then you could cut down one
of them, and pass the remainder along?
I'm building the fin spars for a 109; made some out of 7075 but the
cost of HT-ing that stuff is ridiculous.

' Andrew,
I tried to send this directly to your email, but it keeps bouncing with an "invalid character" in the address. If you want to email me directly, you can at pcrawford262@iquest.net
I will ask if they could cut it in two. Likely save on shipping too. I also got some advice on someone local who may have it. What size piece do you need?
Do you mean Bf-109? I'm a great admirer of Luftwaffe aircraft. My piece is for a PT-26.
Pete
