'just open the rocker cover (the lowest long carter of your engine).

loss of compression may happen as the valve may have been damage when touching the piston and then not seating well on the valveseat!

with broken spring, the valve may loose totaly its sleeves and cups, and be thrown into the cylinder, crushing everything within the cylinder (hole in piston, etc..)

hope, this will not be the worst case for your engine!
