'JP .... go visit the Cessna 195 club site and do a search. They have a wealth of information on this practice. Many support it .. many say it is of no value... comes down to personal preference in the end.

that wouldn't go away. I dumped a quart in the crankcase and a quart in the
tank. Haven't heard that tick yet. I'm sold.

'I used it in the fuel in a C-75 in a Cub and it helped the sticking valve problem. It did not fix it and after a while I just did a top on the engine. All is well now.

I also used it in the fuel and oil on a Ranger in my PT-19 that had sticking valves. I it did help, but did not solve it. I have now had John Ellis in MO do a complete major overhaul/rebuild.

I think MMO does a temporary fix for sticky valves, but not a cure.

That's my story and I am sticking to it....

'Y'know, I am using it as everyone seems to recommend it for the Warner, although it is a pain to carry with you on trips and then messy to mix often as not. I think it is like chicken soup......can't hurt. BUT, Mike Busch mentioned in an article recently that chemical analysis reveals it is nothing special, and nothing that seems particularly helpful.

I dunno, but I'm not bucking conventional wisdom.

'I run the Ranger engine with a full quart MMO added the last half hour before oil change. I tried running it longer one time and started developing leaks. I beleive it cuts carbon, and it did cure morning sickness that showed up on the before start pull through a couple of years back. I think it's basically tranny fluid and I have concerns what it does to viscosity. I still use it however before oil change. Oil change to me is about 25 hours.
