Valve clearance in the Ranger Instruction Book sold by the Fairchild

Post by hotfoot49 »

'After doing some checking in the Book that the Club has, Mr. Muller is correct that the .015 for both valves is incorrect on page 58 of the book. It is correct at .030 for the exhaust on Page 44. The Club didn't change anything in this book. It was reprinted from an original book.

The Overhaul Manual has the correct timing on Page 102 at .015 for timing and runing on the intake and .015 timing and .030 for running on the exhaust.

There is one other incorrect number in the book the Club has. It is on Page 57 onSpecial Threads Tightening Torque Thrust Bearing Nut and Propeller Nut have inch pounds and it should be FT pounds. We have been correctin that as we sell the Books. I will correct the Valve timing in the Books I stil Have and put a correction in the next FLYER I put out.

Keep 'Em Flying!
