Warner 165 oil pressure

'How is it set on a 165, Where is the setting made? There are two hex nuts with springs and ball check valves under them. One has the screen on the right side of the oil pump, and the other is on the left side of the pump. nether has an adjustment screw.

the 145 manual has nothing in it how to adjust the pressure.

I have a oil pump that was inspected by Al Holloway and he says the pump is in great condition, yet I have 40 PSI oil pressure at all RPM.

I'm running 60 weight Aeroshell W 120, I have also run 25W60 it seems to make no difference.

engine has about 200 SMOH.

anyone have a overhaul manual for the 165 that I can buy?'

'I have a copy of such a manual, Tom. Warner Engine Handbook, first edition September 1946.
Covers repair and overhaul, tables of limits etc. One section says:

The oil pressure should be 40-100 psi. If oil pump was repaired but not adjusted and the oil pressure is
above 100 psi with warm oil, the oil pressure should be adjusted by adding or removing washers between
the spring and the pressure relief valve plug in the pressure relief valve.

The book is about 100 pages and has one schematic of the whole engine. Email me offline if you'd like
a copy of my copy. If anyone else on the list would like a copy...get in touch and I'll do them all at once.

A few bits and pieces available

'Lads, I've found a couple of small parts under the bench which might be useful
to someone. One piece is a brake cylinder piston in new condition, markings show
Lockheed, FC1550 made in USA with a nice seal. Other bits include about 24
steel rings which might be exhaust flange gaskets or the like. Also, two engine
mount rubbers with aluminum face (washer ?) bonded on. Anyone ?
