PT Brake Master Cylinders

Post by ranger440c5 »

'I have run across a lot of NOS master cylinders. I am trying to ID
them. Can someone send me a discription or pic or both of the brake
masters used in PT's? I have no idea what these fit nor do I know what
PT's look like! I am going of memory of seeing some PT masters waaaaay
back and these look familiar, but alas...the memory is weak! Perhaps
these fit PT's. If they do any interest here?
Thanks all in advance.'

'The original type master cylinders are a cast aluminum body and pressed in steel sleeve. Over time and temperature, the body will crack making the cylinders unuseable. The Beech 18 uses a similar assembly that will work in the PT's. Either cylinder will fit the mounting flange in the PT fuselage. The cylinders are about roughly 8 inches long with a triangular mount using three AN6 bolts.

'Aahhh. Thank you! These are not it. They have approx 1 to 1-1/4"
bore, are Hayes/Wagner and all steel. They have a thin mtg bracket
using 4) 5/16" holes on a rectangular bolt pattern. I do not recall
the number at the moment but I believe there was a model #F-45. They
are for remote resevoir and appear to be designed to mount
horizontally. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks again for the prompt reply.
