Motor mounts...

Post by Tom Mueller »

'Could anybody help me figure out the arrangement of the motor mounts
on a Temco R46. I'm talking the engine mounting feet with the
vulcanized center. Just what is the mount sequence of bolts and
washers. How do they mount on the engine mount tubular frame.
What I have now is the foot attached to the engine block and that's
correct, then one single An6-47 bolt with regular small washer
inserted down through the rubber mount with a small washer and castle
nut at the bottom end. Every photo I see shows a large diameter
washer at the top and bottom. I don't have these, my setup doesn't
look right. How should this go together.
Thanks
Tom

'Tom,

One large Dia washer on top and between the mount and bushing. Washer should be larger than the casting. When the bushing fails, you don't want the casting to strike the mount. Nor do you want the engine to leave the mount.
