F24 Landing light

Post by Buell Powell »

'Does anyone know where I can find a retractable landing light for my F24. I talked to Charlie Brown and he replaced his with a 12" because he thought the bulbs would be hard to find for the original.
Thanks,
Buell Powell

'I found mine on ebay, I see them listed there quite often. If you find one be sure that it is a 12 volt system. You can have them rebuilt at the Grimes factory in Ohio, but not cheap. Jay Thomson

'Buell: The next time you talk to Mike Redpath, ask him if he has one.
I've seen retractable landing lights in his shop before, but they might
be 24 volt twin Cessna parts.

Avlite Aviation offers a sealed beam conversion kit for the Grimes
ST-250. I dont have a price on it but it may be a reasonable option
since the original bulbs are hard to find.

'Thanks Brad,
I checked with Mike and he is checking on a bulb. If he doesn't find
one that works I am going to see about getting a conversion kit to a sealed
beam.
