Ranger time

'A question for Ranger drivers and perhaps, specifically Canadian
PT's:
It was common if not standard proceedure for WWII U.S. Army and Navy
overhaul stations to stamp the hours at O/H and date of O/H on the
nose
case of radials. We have several Wrights, Jakes, and Continentals and
quite a few Ranger nose cases stamped as such. The question is
regarding a very nice RCAF 440C-5 we have. There are no stamped
figures
on nose case, however there are 2 sets of numbers on maincase just
aft
of nose case on rt side. One is 3 digit and the other 4 digit. RCAF
is
stamped in case just above dataplate followed by an undiscernable
number.
Did the RCAF stamp the hours on engine at each o/h thus giving an
idea
as to the hours on engine?'
