more newbie questions

Post by Mike Bourget »

'here's a silly one..... just about to order the Grand Rapids EIS for
my big ranger. I am assuming the oil temp probe is going to be a
3/8th style like the Cont, and Lycoming series. can anyone verify
this?

cheers

'Mike,
Have you talked to Craig at GRT? I installed one of these units on a
Rotax 912 and it is the most accurate and flawless unit, have had
zero problems in 300hrs. I would assume he would configure senders to
what you need. You are using a UAP 1050 Y drain as the thermocouple
well?

list membership policy

Post by dcasali »

'Hi All,

Every once in a while, spammers join the list and get off a message
before I can delete them. This is partly possible because we have a
totally open membership policy.

An alternative policy would allow me to screen membership prior to
allowing their posting. The spammers are usually easy to spot, with
names like "seeexonline" (our most recent). The downside is legitimate
new members might have to wait a week if I'm out of town when they apply.

On the other hand, we only get hit about once a month. I kick them off,
but I think they are mostly one-shot deals anyway.

If you feel strongly about this, send me an email at
dcasali@mindspring.com. I'll report my decision in a week or so.

Thanks...

Dan Casali'

'Dan,

I am ok with the way it is. If it gets worse you can reevaluate the
situation and take any action you think is necessary.

'Hi Dan-
You are doing an even better job then my IS department
at work. Keep up the good work.. I agree that we
should keep it open as long as the spammers don't get
out of control. Is there any kind of filter/firewall
yahoo can install to assist you? If not, I agree with
Jamie and John in keeping it as is.
