Warner shock mounts

Post by Melvyn Hiscock »

'Ages and ages ago I posted about the rubber mounts for the 145 Warner
that I was about to have made. These are the oval ones with the steel
centre that are about 1 in x 1 in x 3/4 in with rounded ends. At the
time you said you would have two sets.

Because of 1001 other problems with my airplane I have only now got
around to getting this underway properly and I wanted to make sure
everyone was up to date and had an idea of the pricing.

I have to get a revised quote as this one is almost a year old but
these figures will do as a ballpark. What I intend to do is share the
cost evenly between whoever buys, so if I save money, so do you. This
will also be for the rubber only, not the steel inserts that will
have to be made separately.

Tooling is £230 (or about 350 bucks)

ten of the inserts (one set) would be £9.50 each ($14.25) both prices
plus tax of 17.5%

Therefore one set is going to cost me £381.88 or about $575!

he has given me a price for five sets (50 pcs) at £4.67 per insert.

Therefore five sets will cost (incl tooling and tax) £108.92 per set
(165 bucks)

If I can find buyers for ten sets (or a willing investor!) I can get
this down to £81.90 (123 bucks)

I have worked these on an exchange of about 1.5 dollars to the pound.

Please email me directly if you would like to order a set or sets.
These are to be made from BS1154:1992 rubber grade Z70 which is as
near as is possible to the original material. The company is offering
a Certificate of Conformity but for obvious reasons I will only sell
these one at buyers own risk.
