'Do any members know what (if any ) vintage the door handle hardware
is on the F24 type aircraft?- I heard a comment at one time that they
may be off a Chrysler? auto of some vintage and I would like to know
as I am looking for a set on the aircraft I am restoring. The current
set does not match on each side and I would like to find the right
items-'

'sheilapup:
Ive tracked this down to replace the badly corroded handles on my 1946
F24R. They are 1936 Ford V8 Standard handles. I cant speak to other
years. Reproductions are available from various old Ford replica
outlets, e.g.: Bob Drake . You will need to cut
down the shaft to a length of 2 inches to fit the Fairchild.
Good luck.

'we found everything we needed for the 24 at a flea market associated with an
antique car show. the copilots side has a small item that locks the door
from the inside and the pilots door has a key lock like the old autos. total
cost was $30. gas caps were found at the same place. they were vented
