Formation Flying Anyone?

Post by pt19flyer@aol.com »

'Do you have a Fairchild PT and wonder where would be a great location to go
flying? Consider participating in the Formation Clinic this year in Keokuk
Iowa. The training, which is in association with the L-Bird International
Convention, is from July 17th thru 20th. Thought you might not expect
Primary Trainers to be in integral part of the L-Bird movement, we have a
priority designation as the coordinator, Irv Lindner has a PT-19 and most of
the instructors have extensive background in our type of flying. Having
attended the clinic last year I can assure you that their standards for
safety are high but their willingness to train is even higher. If you
question whether your skills are sufficient to receive a formation rating, I
can assure you this is the place to both discover your potential and practice
with a margin of safety not normally available at our home strips. A friend
and I are taking my PT-19 up to the event so that he qualify for an ACE card,
and if we can attend from California and Texas, somehow I think most of the
rest of the country is within flying distance. If you would like more
information, I will be happy to forward it on to you. This is a terrific
event, equally casual while on the ground and challenging while in the air.
The local folks, particularly the Lindner family, make it a marvelous annual
event.
