Aeromatic Prop Service Bulletin

Post by dcasali »

' On 31 July 2000 the FAA approved a service bulletin for Aeromatic propellers describing a visual inspection procedure for dry rot of the blades and corrosion of the blade screws. This is a mandatory inspection to be carried out every 100 hrs, and is in response to reports of in-flight failures of the props.
I've just place a copy of the service bulletin in the files section of the fairchild club group page located at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fairchildclub/files/ The file name is "Aeromatic SB2000-001.pdf ". The document is in Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf) and requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it. Most personal computers ship with Acrobat Reader installed, but if you need a copy it is available free at:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Thanks to Jamie Treat for locating this service bulletin and urging us to post it.

'Dan,

Thank you for posting the SB on the Aeromatic. I tried the link, not
working yet. If any one wants to view the SB and view pics of the end
result, can do from my site. WEBSITE:

http://hometown.aol.com/ftreat9191/AIRCRAFTRESTORATIONREPAIRindex.html

I do not expect a AD to be issued, only one TOTAL blade failure
recorded in 60+ years.'
