As an old IA I’m not working on our KR yet but As with many things in our old aircraft, most of the supplies/technology comes from other cores. The brass nails are ‘ring nails’. Or ‘glue nails’ (the heat of driving them melts the glue and adds adhesion). These all come from boat building. You might look there. As for “legality”… if it is a proper working part of reasonable quality it is considered a “standard” part. A brass ring nail is a brass ring nail. Sorta’ like spruce. God does not have PMAs for trees. You have to look at 43-13 and decide. Google brass ring nails. Be sure you find the correct diameter. If you have the drawings it will be in the materials list. If you don’t have that reach out to me at iterk@aol.com and I’ll look at my KR/Parks dwgs. Wood rib nails were common.
