availability of group archives

Post by dcasali »

'Hi David,
I do have the archive, but the short answer is no,
The long answer is
1) the archives are not readable directly without a copy of the archiving program
2) they can be exported, but not in an easily consumed format (want an SQL database?)
3) Real Soon Now we plan to move the archives into the new phpBB Forum we are setting up; then everyone will have access
This last step has been gated by the archive developer creating a path from the stored archive to the phpBB forum, and that piece of the puzzle has just fallen into place - not simple, but now theoretically doable. We will try to make this happen before year end.

Dan, I understand you have the Fairchild Group email archives. Correct? If so, I would like to have a copy of the file(s). Is that possible? Perhaps you could put it on the website somewhere that I could download it? I don't need images. Just the list email.

Thanks,David

' Dan, I can deal with SQL databases. I'm a programmer and Linux familiar. These are important to my work as an AP.  I would like to setup my own search and organizational front end. I would certainly make it available to other members of the group as well.
