Fw: [fairchildclub] Yahoo shutting down groups

Hey everyone! Administrator of this group? Maybe Mike Kelly? Or Mike would probably know.

We may need to act quickly. It would be a shame to lose all the data, particularly the searchable "conversations" data.

I lease a webserver and could put it up there as a temporary site until we decide about moving the list.

I believe the only person that can download the history archives is the person with administrative access to the web site.  When the site was set up, someone, no idea who, should have been given admin access to modify, download and save things. Not sure who to contact to start saving stuff quickly Jim

Thanks Jim.

How can we download the archives of messages? I searched the Yahoo site but couldn't find anything except the monthly messages thru the years but not in a form that can be downloaded. It would be a shame to lose all those messages.

I haven't received a message from the group in several days. Are we
still online? What is the decision regarding moving to another service?

'Dan and I are still working on downloading all the previous content. Note that while uploading new (non-email) content stops in 3 days, the data will remain available on the yahoo groups site until December.

Dan and I are leaning towards setting up a phpBB web board (similar to what is used by many of the other type clubs). I need to work with Mike Kelly on details (like getting DNS and all that configured). Unfortunately, this has been a crazy 2 weeks for both of us (for different reasons). Stay tuned!
