Request for info on Fairchild 24

Post by Karl A Vogelheim »

'

Hello All,
My name is Karl and I am hoping you can help me.  When searching for my first airplane I ran across the Fairchild 24.  At the time I couldn't find a lot of information on them at the time.  In the end
I purchased a Stinson108-3.  While I am happy with my airplane, I have never quite forgotten the Fairchild 24.  This leads me to my request.
What I really would like is an opportunity to see a Fairchild 24 in person and get a chance to sit in the cockpit.  I live in South East Michigan and I am willing to travel a fair distance to see one.
I will even trade a ride in a F24 for a ride in my 108-3 if the owner is willing.  However, this will help me to know if I need to pursue more info about an F24 or be happy with my Stinson.
Thank you all in advance.  You can contact me at amigarules at Hotmail dot com if you are willing to show me your airplane.

Karl

' Tony,     That is a little farther than I was hoping for but I will see what I can arrange.   What I am hoping to see is how well I fit in the cabin.  If I am going to be in a slower airplane I want to be comfortable and I am a little bit cramped in my Stinson.  So if the F24 cabin is a little bit taller, that might make all the difference and tip me into looking for a Fairchild.

'Karl, I’ve got an F24 project stored in South Bend.  The interior is in place, so you could get an accurate assessment of your fit.  Text me if you’d like to check it out.

'Eric and Jim,    Both of your locations are a little more what I had in mind.  I have to work this weekend but I will be in touch with you both soon.  Thank you.
