I checked into this several years ago with Hastings engineering..
The width of the automotive ring is about .0155 thicker.. The groove
may be deep enough to accept .031 thousands more ring, I don't know
either way, as I didn't go any farther..
I don't use automotive rings, too many problems if didn't work.. There
may be someone who has been successful using these..
