' My PT-26 recently experienced an in-flight engine failure. (A successful landing was made on a local farmers strip.) It has been found that the #5 piston is now in pieces. But enough internal damage was done so that it is not possible to pull the #5 cylinder. Evidently the rod has deformed the cylinder skirt enough to prevent the cylinder’s easy removal. I have a rebuilt cylinder ready to install (with piston, valves, etc.), but the engine needs to be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned before reassembly. I would like to find an experienced A&P/IA that can tackle the job of making this engine airworthy again. Or if there is a recently overhauled engine available I would like to consider buying it. Any suggestions that can be provided would be appreciated. Charles

You should let the folks know your location! Might be someone right in town that can help.'

'I have located a fresh engine - from John Ellis of Jackson, MO. It is in the middle of an overhaul. Looks like my PT will be air born again before too long.
