Cessna 195?

Post by Jay Herrin »

'Hey Guys.....This from Jay Herrin (jayherrin@bellsouth.net) and also “peachtreecitybiplanes.com.”
I kinda keep an eye on your website as my Meyers OTW has a Warner 165 and you are a great resource for Warner questions.  This note however, is to let everyone know of a gem of a 1953 Cessna 195 that belongs to my good buddy which is about to be advertised for sale.
In a nutshell......a 2 owner, Jake (700hrs) powered, leather, uncut panel, no hail, 3000TT, recent Prop OH ($5,000), rarely flown and hangared since new.
If there’s any interest along the way shoot me a note or call and I’ll be happy to send details, pictures, etc.
Keep those Warners going!

I know I’m still good for a while. I can certainly wait until things get right at your end. After the turn of the year would be ok for me...

Thanks. How close are any of you to be needing these? Are there any of you that are being kept from the wild blue yonder because you are grounded until you replace them?

Roger. I’ve put in a couple phone calls but so far no call back. I will keep trying. When I do reach them I will indicate that a number of folks are interested.

I have the same setup John. A few years ago I recall someone here on the group saying that they were working on replacement isolators. They were trying to find a suitable rubber. I also think there was some conversation about how the original mounts were installed. It may not be a simple replacement. The Serv-Aero guys are still around but I have talked to them and they don't support the mount any more. Hopefully you get some responses because I know the day is coming when I will have to do something with mine as well.

Good morning,
I have a 24 with the Jake installed on a Serv-Aero engine mount. The rubber isolation mounts where it attaches to the airframe at the firewall are starting to go. Anybody run across a source for new rubber isolation mounts?
Thanks in advance!
John
