I have the same setup John. A few years ago I recall someone here on the group saying that they were working on replacement isolators. They were trying to find a suitable rubber. I also think there was some conversation about how the original mounts were installed. It may not be a simple replacement. The Serv-Aero guys are still around but I have talked to them and they don't support the mount any more. Hopefully you get some responses because I know the day is coming when I will have to do something with mine as well.

Good morning,
I have a 24 with the Jake installed on a Serv-Aero engine mount. The rubber isolation mounts where it attaches to the airframe at the firewall are starting to go. Anybody run across a source for new rubber isolation mounts?
Thanks in advance!
John

'Thanks.Blood clots in my lungs landed me in the hospital for most of June. While in the hospital I got pneumonia. Neither of these are fun. The blood thinners they put me on have their own very bad side effects, not the least of which is uncontrollable bleeding. Owning/working in a machine shop, bleeding is a part of most every day. I was driving home from seeing a customer and got a nose bleed. 5 hours later I was still bleeding, in the 6th hour it finally slowed enough for me to be sent home from the hospital. I tell you this not looking for sympathy but to bring to light the dangers I face if I were to get hurt while working on your mounts. It's not that I don't want or need the work, Cash flow sucks, money is tight, but life is short enough. If I don't take the time to heal now I may not be here later to help with your projects!

John

John

Re: Jacobs 755 Serv-Aero mount isolation

Post by Matthew & Patricia Banks »

' Unfortunately, no. I have been calling Southland for months and only get a voicemail and cannot leave a message. I am planning to call serv-aero again just to see if they can help. I'm guessing that the isolators are just a modification of an existing Lord mount. I can't imagine them being custom made. If I can find out what the starting PN is I can make the mods. The ones on my plane are about done so I will have to do something soon. Let me know if you come up with anything.

John
