'Sometimes sliding the oil intake hose away from the pump can be a real challenge. I have found that the easiest way to free the hose is to use a heat gun and heat the rubber just enough to make it soft. Once soft, it will easily slide back away from the pump on to the aluminum tubing. You will want to slide it back only enough to allow air to escape and oil to flow from the top side of the hose.
