'I sent my PT main landing gear legs to Aerospace Coatings to have the wear repaired and now they tell me they are bowed beyond repair. This was after they started grinding them down, so now they are totally unusable. If someone could help me out with a pair of gear legs, it would be much appreciated!

Has anyone come across a Fairchild Standards drawing for lightning
flanges? I need to make a couple of new ribs for my AT-21 rudders and
need to flange several holes of various sizes. I'm hoping that someone
has seen a standards drawing and I don't have to cruise through nearly
14,000 shots on the AT-21 microfilm to see if there is one.

Hi Ed: I don't have any numbers right now. The problem is that there are about 1000 feet of microfilm, containing approximately 15,000 individual shots. There is an index that is about 90 pages long, but it is arranged by drawing size then part number. It is going to take some concentrated effort to search the index and then search the individual rolls to find a drawing. Nothing was segregated when it was filmed, so there are mixed sizes on each roll.
I was hoping that someone with the 24 or 19/23/26 drawings would have either run across or could check to see if there was a standard drawing for the lightning flanges. The place that I think would the be the best to look, is one of the control surface rib drawings, for a hole reference callout. From that callout, if there is one, it would lead I hope to a standard drawing. While I have not looked at a Fairchild single control surfaces in a long time, I am assuming that they are metal ribbed and have lightning holes like the 21. If you could take a quick look, I would be most appreciative.

'I don't think you will find a drawing with standards. This information would be contained in a design manual approved and revised by the manufacturer when preparing drawings. The assembly and detail drawings are your best reference as the design and stress engineers will determine the hole size referencing the manufacturers design manual.

I was hoping that someone with the 24 or 19/23/26 drawings would have either run across or could check to see if there was a standard drawing for the lightning flanges. The place that I think would the be the best to look, is one of the control surface rib drawings, for a hole reference callout. From that callout, if there is one, it would lead I hope to a standard drawing. While I have not looked at a Fairchild single control surfaces in a long time, I am assuming that they are metal ribbed and have lightning holes like the 21. If you could take a quick look, I would be most appreciative. Craig

I'm making several sets right now of Canadian style PT main gear tubes. The Canadian style is removable from the lower weldment. The new tubes will be heat treated and hard chrome plated.
I'm considering making new lower weldments as well. I have had several requests in the past, so it will be new uppers and lower main struts of the Canadian design. What I need to know is, "are people interested?"
