Pardon me for hijacking this thread slightly, but I heard there were records somewhere identifying which F-24’s, etc. were impressed during WWII for military service – coast watching, etc. I’d like to find out if my F-24W40A was one of those. I have all the records (originals, not copies) from the day it left the factory (22 July 1940) to the present, but info from the war years seems conspicuously absent. Could anyone direct me to something that might show where my airplane was during WWII. Thanks.

I am not sure if I suggested this but have you tried that Fairchild Museum and Hagerstown Maryland they might have better records

Tony,
This is what I received from the FAA on my inquiry. Any other ideas?
Glad you enjoyed our site.
Thanks,
Errol

Comments: I am trying to find out what happened to Fairchild PT-19A serial number 42-34160, T42-382, NC46275 It was still flying in 1958 at Lake Susquhanna Airport in Blairstown, NJ. It is not on the current aircraft list so it may have been scrapped or whatever. Thanks so much for your help.
