'RE: Flap extension/retract. NO......I would think, right off the top of my head. You have the cables that are connected to the flap lever reversed. The small one on the top and the large one on the bottom To me, that would be the easiest way to reverse everything. The smaller cable should be on the upper connection of the lever and the larger one on the bottom. The small one goes to the left side of the fuselage, up then forward, then out into the wing. The small cable has the least amount of load, only to raise the two flaps. You will notice that the cable size gets larger as the system moves to the right side.I am in the process of putting the wings in place for the first and final time, in 42 years. The left side is installed and is in the initial stage of rigging. Bob775-482-9243

'I don't want to even think of what the other possibility could be. You put the cables on the wrong part of the Bell Crank. The cables do cross one another between the fuselage pulleys and the bell crank. The small pulley is only a guide for the cable, as it passes from one side of the fuselage to the other.I will look through the photos that I have and see if there is any that will be of help.Bob

The smaller cable should be on the upper connection of the lever and the larger one on the bottom. The small one goes to the left side of the fuselage, up then forward, then out into the wing. The small cable has the least amount of load, only to raise the two flaps. You will notice that the cable size gets larger as the system moves to the right side.I am in the process of putting the wings in place for the first and final time, in 42 years. The smaller cable should be on the upper connection of the lever and the larger one on the bottom. The small one goes to the left side of the fuselage, up then forward, then out into the wing. The small cable has the least amount of load, only to raise the two flaps. You will notice that the cable size gets larger as the system moves to the right side.I am in the process of putting the wings in place for the first and final time, in 42 years. 'Flat should extend to two mechanical positions. Flaps up with handle on floor. Full flaps with handle near edge of seat
I am finally assembling my F-24 for the first time after a long restoration. My flaps are extending when I push the flap lever forward and down. Is this correct or should they extend when I pull the lever up and aft?your input will be much appreciated.Thanks Sincerely

'I thought that JP has a later model 24. My 46 has only 3 positions 0, 30, and 60 degrees. The top of the lever is just below the instrument panel.Bob
