Can anyone recommend someone to do that job?

They are well stocked with the correct NOS parts and possess the expertise to do grade A technical and cosmetic work on VNM-7D magnetos. Years of experience at Savage. They overhauled my VMN-7D mags for my Warner 145 engine. Very satisfied.Check them out on the web.

Thanks a lot, everyone. Exactly what I was looking for.

It's a bit puzzling. My left mag has always had a small drop when the right one was switched off, about 30. But lately, before takeoff, during the runup mag check, it's dropping 100, and running a bit rough.

I installed new plugs. Nil fix. Checked them again later for oil and carbon. They were clean. So that's not it.

But airborne, in cruise at 1900 rpm, when I do a mag check, selecting left, (right mag off), it goes back to the old 30 drop.

My right mag has a larger drop but that's because it's rotated to the maximum and needs to be removed and advanced one tooth on the drive gear. And because of the cramped installation on that side, a whole bunch of stuff has to be disassembled.
