'Good morning My name is Chuck Lloyd and I have a 1938 Fairchild 24 project. N4714 Back in 2000 this was a great low time plane that took a bath in the Columbia River just above Bonnaville dam and sunk 100 plus feet to the botton. The last owner was a expert wood worker and built all the new ribs and wing spars. Its kind of funny after talking to other 24 owners and restorers for info on rebuilding this plane about half of them ask me about the work that had been done and then told me that to make sure the work is good and done right I should have a man up in washington state look at them and ok them. To my serprize it was the same person that built my ribs and spars and sold me the plane. Clayton I THANK YOU
Now its my turn. The plane is over at Jeff paulson in his spare hanger. I will be bring it home to my shop over the next week. I will post pictures of the move to my shop and the rebuild of this plane as work goes on. I will also post the history of this Great old plane. From day one from when the US Goverment bought it New. Through the use of the Navy in WW2 and then bought in 1946 and used by the Washington state police till 1955 up to the last flight it made and the recovery from over a 100 feet below the water. This is a great old plane with a rich history and hope that you will injoy the build. Thank you Chuck'

'Chuck,
I have a very clean fuselage if you can use it. I am stripping all the wood and spare parts for my project. I understand you may have some fuselage work if it is the same project I remember. David

'Hi David Do you have the wood former supports for the bottom of the fuselage. I need to make all new wood for my plane but the bottom wood supports are Damage broke off or just gone. I need some for patterns. My fuselage does need repair as the left landing gear was rip off its mounts and the forward mount on the fuselage was damage. also the motor mount was damage. all damage was done by guy running the winch on the recovery. Had line chocker around the 2 top motor mount supports never gave the time to drain water out just kept lifting. Rip off left gear as it went up the hill and cant for get the left wing that also was destoryed in that hill climb. Its sad that this plane had NO DAMAGE at all when brought to shore from 100+ feet setting on the bottom of the columbia river. Except for everthing being water log. WELL David I sure could use it. What were you thinking you need for it. and by chance do you have a left gear. I know now I am dreaming. But tell me what is your Project. Thank you Chuck

Re: New member with new project
'Hi Chuck
I just saw a set of Fairchild 24 gear on Barnstormers, maybe these will work for you.
We also have a great interior pattern that has been used by numerous F24 restorations here in the states and in Europe.
Our project is pushing a dozen years of mostly working on weekends and holidays.
If we can assist with anything, please let us know. Unfortunately all our wood was so rotted, that once our wood was recreated, the old wood went into the trash.
Good Luck

Subject: [fairchildclub] New member with new project
Good morning My name is Chuck Lloyd and I have a 1938 Fairchild 24 project.
Thank you Chuck

Re: New member with new project
'Good afternoon David At this time I do not have the extra time or money to come pick it up. I WISH I DID. I will cost me around 2200 dollars to have ship out here. I hate to say it but I better let it go. Thank you Chuck

Subject: [fairchildclub] New member with new project
Good morning My name is Chuck Lloyd and I have a 1938 Fairchild 24 project.
Thank you Chuck

Subject: [fairchildclub] New member with new project
Good morning My name is Chuck Lloyd and I have a 1938 Fairchild 24 project.
Thank you Chuck

Good afternoon David At this time I do not have the extra time or money to come pick it up. I WISH I DID. I will cost me around 2200 dollars to have ship out here. I hate to say it but I better let it go. Thank you Chuck

Good morning My name is Chuck Lloyd and I have a 1938 Fairchild 24 project.
Thank you Chuck
