finishing tapes

'George,

What has been found in the past on Post-War F-24s is that finishing tapes
were not applied to all of the stringers, longerons and sewed seams.

Also the rudder and elev were not rib stitched. Hard to believe, but I had
the chance to remove an original new/old stock that were prepared that way.

However, I would not do that today. The factory never expected these birds
to last that long in service. Plus production time was a consideration.

I would use pre-shrunk pinked tapes (if going with dark color). I get mine
from Superflite. I would also stitch the rudder and horz elev on 1.5 inch
centers. Less ballooning, faster planeJ Follow guidance in 43.13.

Hope this helps.

I've finally got the fuselage covered on the F-24 that I've been working on.
My question is; do finishing tapes have to be placed over every stringer?
