F-24 N4263S

Post by Matt & Patty »

'Although a very difficult decision, I am seriously considering putting N4263S on the market. 63S is a TEMCO built 1946 F24-W46 with around 2700 airframe hours. This A/C is highly customized and one of the only flying Jacobs 755B2(275hp)powered examples that I know of. The engine has approx 65 SMOH and the HS 2B20 prop approx 75 SMOH. Engine runs great, doesn't leak, and still looks new. A flat panel has been installed with basic VFR instrumentation. Avionics include a King 195B dual com, King KT 76A transponder, King Skymap 3C GPS (all in like-new condition), and a new four place stereo intercom. The interior is red cloth in excellent condition and has lots of paint and polish details. The airframe was restored back in the early 90s with new wood, fabric, and paint. A complete disassembly, inspection, and partial restoration was performed during 2009 to 2010.
Performance with the Jacobs radial is impressive. The power makes it a blast to fly and it sounds really sweet. This is a beautiful and unique aircraft, and it attracts a crowd wherever it goes. There are photos in the site archive under N4263S and a google search of N4263S "images" will bring up some additional shots from a local photographer. 63S is not a show plane, but is still one of the nicest flying F-24 examples that I have seen in the south east. I am thinking of pricing it at $55k and want to get a feel for the level of interest ... so, anyone interested?

Have a great day ...
