Shipping contanier dimentions

Post by pittss1_s »

'Does anyone know what the dimensions of a Ranger engine crate are? I'm looking to have one shipped from the East coast to Arizona. Also, anyone had any luck doing something like this at a reasonable price?'

'All depends on how much safe space you around the engine. Mine was 6' x 2' x 4'.

I also use Freightquote.com. Set up an account, plug in your to and from, dimensions and weight, and you will recieve quotes from many shippers. Easy to use. I have been using them for 10+ years.

'I shipped my engine from Oregon to Santa Paula and back in a wooden crate

'If you can ship terminal to terminal, Forward Air is good. One of the
Bearhawk guys just had an O-320 shipped from San Antonio to St. Paul for
something under $150. Dropped off at the terminal at 5 pm on Monday,
available for pickup at 8 am Wednesday, same week.

'Thanks Jamie,
I just used it to send out an engine mount and a cowling. The pricing
was much better than the last time I did this.
