Straight stacks.

I saw the pictures of your Plane. You have an angle cut on the end of the stack but there isn't any thing to create some back pressure. the stacks I mentioned, had a little curve(bend) in the stack itself at the end and then it was cut off.

'Yes! ok! understood!

but I think that with the low revs speed of aero engines like this it is not so important to have such good "back pressure"...
It is very important on sports engines reving faster, or on usual cars because of the revs variations we are asking when driving...

Of course it could be bent, it should be better...
...but the most important when building exhaust systems is the length, in order to get this famous backwave!

But after 20years (or more) with such exhaust we never encountered any valve problems....
...only piston rings problems!

'Hi Mike,

Dawley Aviation of Burlington Wisconsin made up a set of 3 into 1 probably
15 years ago for me.. They are still in great condition and have never
caused a problem.. I am not aware of a field
approval for the single pipes, but there may be one out there.
