'I have a set of rudder pedals I bought off of eBay along with the rudder bar brackets. I removed the old paint on the pedals. Looking at the pedal attach holes I see how they have been elongated over the years from the steel bushings that were used. I believe the original bore was .375". The four diameters are now, .380",.385", and .393". Is it possible and wise (most of all) to ream those holes to .4375" (7/16")and hope the casting doesn't crack at the attach point and used a larger OD bushing? Any suggestions? Thanks.

'Today I received my .4375" straight ream and proceeded to ream out the holes in my brake pedals. I chucked the ream up in my Makita drill, made sure everything was level and straight and the ream went through the .390" holes like butter. I had purchased some bronze bushings from AC Spruce and buzzed the flanged end off, then filed the bushings as needed. I have the assembly together just for display at the moment. On to the next task, replacing bearings in the control stick sockets.
