F24W Project for trade (or sale)

Post by blinddog36451 »

'Time to let it go. To many projects, not enough time left. I have a really nice 41 F24W project. NO ENGINE or PROP. The fuse had som rot in the lower longerons, they have been replaced,it is ready to be sanded and painted(it is spray canned to stop it from rusting). The wings are reassembled and ready to be covered, the fuel tanks were cleaned and coated. (the wings are in transport racks)The tail feathers had new wood on them. ALL the sheet metal(cowling, dishpan, firewall, fairings, wheel pants, doorskins, etc.) are in excelent shape. uncut panel. sticks, pedals, links, etc. all there and nice shape. all new cut sealed wood for stringers and formers. 2 new tailwheels, extra set of NOS door skins. Mount for 165 warner, oil tank and venturi. Two large (coffin sized) crates of parts. I assemebled the plane when I first got it to make sure everything major was there,The airframe is complete. The seats and trim are there but not usable except as patterns. The insturments are 50's era. This is a really complete project. I have the logs (I did not get the wartime logs with it, they start in 48)Some things I would be interested in trading for are: 2 seat PPC, 24 ft(or larger) pontoon boat and trailer. 5th wheel camper with slide out,Harley WLA project, 20's, 30's cars, Harleys (no sportsters)etc. If I have to put a cash price on it its 6500.00. I WILL NOT PART THIS OUT. Sorry it is just to complete.I dont get on the computer much so I would rather you call me and leave a number and a good time to call and I will call you back. Then if we are both still interested I will get someone to send pics. I work strange hours and this is what works best for me. The plane is in in my hanger in Jackson Alabama. The Phone # is 251-246-4234 Please leave a message. Thanks, Rick Wolfe'

'Forgot to add that the only airplane project I would be interested in trading for would be a biplane large enough to hang a 755 jake radial on. Thanks, Rick

'Yeah I agree. That was my plan. There is a stc floating around out there for the conversion. But my long distance flying days are over and it seemed a shame to just rathole it in my hanger untill I die. It seemed like the thing to do to get it to someone who will use it.
