American Airman magazine

Post by Charles Mueller »

'I recently came across a set of 1959 American Airman magazines. I
wanted the March issue for its articles on the Fairchild PT series.
The other issues I'll pass on to whoever would like them.

The April 1959 (Vol II, Number 8) issue has a 4 page article on the
"The Fairchild 24", and another 9 page story "The Story Behind the
Fairchild 24" (many photos), plus another 3 pages of photos of other
Fairchild models.

Anybody interested? Just reimburse me for the postage and they are yours.'

'The idea of scanning the Fairchild related American Airman articles is
great. I need to convince my scanner to start talking to my computer
again, then I'll scan the pertinent articles and post them on this
group's site.

I'll hang on to the March issue, since I'm working on a PT, and pass
the other issues on to Frank Gochenauer.

Thanks for the scanning idea!'

'The F-24 articles from the April 1959 issue of American Airman have
been posted in the Files section. Look for the file labeled "F-24
Articles".
Some of the photos are so-so quality, but that is what the originals
look like too.'
