'That's what I thought, but have recently seen two Rangers with metal
props. One was a F-24 for sale at Courtesy Aircraft that advertised a
metal Hartzell and another one a Starduster Too. I don't know what
kind that was. This is just a curiosity, but if anybody has
additional info, please send along.

Re: Metal Prop on Ranger
'Read the particular ATC or TCDS for the aircraft you are referring
to. Curtiss-Reed props of certain diameter and pitch are approved for
the Fairchild M-62 series airplanes but I do not know if the F24
series is approved for metal props. You will not find prop specs in E-
216 for the Ranger engine.
The ATC and TCDS documents can be downloaded from the FAA website.

'The 24W's are approved. The C8E, 24G, 24H, 24J, 24K, 24W9, 24W40, 24W41, could use Curtiss Reed 55511 or Hamilton Standard (ground adjustable?). The 24W41A could use Curtiss Reed 55518 or Hamilton 2B with the proper blades. I don't know where I have the stuff for the 46's.
I didn't find anything for the Ranger F24's.
